CAIRO – Egypt’s Finance Minister Mohamed Maeet has stressed that the state is keen to strengthen co-operation with international development partners to fulfill green economy goals.
The minister made his remarks on Thursday during a meeting with Vice President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Ludger Schuknecht.
Maeet reiterated that the state works on providing incentives and favourable climate to attract local and foreign investments in infrastructure projects that witnessed unprecedented achievements in the past period in partnership with the private sector to realise the goals of the Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS): Egypt Vision 2030.
Egypt has strong partnership with the bank with infrastructure investments worth over $1 billion, the minister said, noting that Cairo aims to enhance cooperation with AIIB to have more flexible environment of smart infrastructure.
Egypt is keen to host annual meetings of the AIIB in 2023 to propel cooperation between Asia and Africa, Maeet added.
