Egypt is acting to expand a lot of reclaimed lands and to cultivate strategic crops, such as wheat, said Minister of Public Business Sector Mahmoud Esmat Sunday.
It is a general policy meant to achieve self-sufficiency in food crops in order to narrow the gap of imports, Esmat noted.
He was speaking during a visit to South Valley Co. in Toshka.
Esmat spoke with Aswan governor and discussed a number of projects in the Upper Egyptian city in light of partnership requests submitted by the private sector, according to a statement by the Ministry.
They also talked about ways to best use assets of the Public Business Sector Ministry to guarantee utmost returns, the statement said.
Esmat’s visit to South Valley Co. today aimed to also review the firm’s plan of action in the coming stage and to inspect lands affiliated with it, the statement added.
