Egypt has welcomed a joint statement issued in Benghazi by Mohamed Al Menfi, head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Aqila Saleh, speaker of the House of Representatives and Khalifa Hafter, the commander of the Libyan army.
A statement issued by the Foreign Ministry Sunday said that Egypt supports any political dialogue leading to the stability in the Arab country.
The statement renewed Egypt’s support to Libya’s national institutions to enable all parties to hold presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible.
It called on Libyan parties to support Libyan-Libyan dialogue, expressing Cairo’s support to the stability in Libya to achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people.
