Egypt welcomed a ceasefire and integration deal between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Monday, Egypt voiced hope that the deal would represent a step toward launching a comprehensive political process, embracing all Syrian components, thereby contributing to the preservation of the unity of the Syrian State, supporting its security and stability and safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Egypt reaffirmed its firm stance on the necessity of preserving Syria’s unity and territorial integrity and supporting national State institutions in a manner that enables them to fulfill their duties and responsibilities in protecting the country’s stability and safeguarding the rights of the Syrian people, the statement said.
All drives, Egypt noted, would contribute to restoring security and stability and improving the humanitarian and living conditions of the brotherly Syrian people, it added.
