Ways of boosting the strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States was at the core of talks between Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati and the US Congressman Abraham Hamadeh, a member of the US House of Representatives’ Armed Services Committee.
According to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tamim Khallaf, the meeting focused on enhancing co-operation between the two countries in the political, economic, and security fields.
Abdel-Aati stressed the importance of continuing co-operation with the US Congress in a way that serves the shared interests of both countries.
He also reviewed Egypt’s efforts to support security and stability in the Middle East, including attempts to contain regional escalation, reduce tensions, support the US-Iran negotiation track, and promote diplomatic solutions.
Talks also covered several regional issues, especially developments related to the Palestinian issue.
Abdel-Aati outlined Egypt’s position on the situation in Gaza and the West Bank and highlighted Cairo’s efforts to support regional stability.
For his part, Hamadeh praised the strong strategic relationship between Egypt and the United States and expressed his commitment to supporting continued co-operation and coordination on issues of mutual interest.
