The Presidency of Arab republic of Egypt has reiterated its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the unique and sacred religious status of St. Catherine’s Monastery. This commitment remains a fundamental principle that shall not be compromised under any circumstances.
In this context, the Presidency affirmed that the recent judicial ruling serves to reinforce and uphold the monastery’s revered status. The ruling aligns with the assurances made by the President of the Republic during his official visit to Athens on May 7, underscoring the consistency of the state’s position on this matter.
Furthermore, the Presidency emphasized the importance of preserving the longstanding, close, and fraternal relations between the two nations and their peoples. It stressed that such ties must be protected from any actions or narratives that could undermine them.
