Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El‑Sisi held a phone call with Kuwait’s Emir, Sheikh Meshal Al‑Ahmad Al‑Jaber Al‑Sabah, following the Iranian strike that targeted Kuwaiti territory, according to a statement from the presidency.
The presidential spokesperson said President Sisi expressed Egypt’s full solidarity with Kuwait’s leadership and people in the face of the attack. He stressed Egypt’s firm rejection of any violation of Arab states’ sovereignty or attempts to undermine their security and stability, warning that such actions pose a serious threat to regional security and risk triggering destabilizing consequences for the wider Middle East.
The spokesperson, Ambassador Mohamed El‑Shenawy, added that President Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s consistent position that the current crisis requires a return to dialogue and diplomacy. He emphasized that military solutions will not serve the interests of any party and could push the region into further turmoil and instability.
For his part, Kuwait’s Emir expressed deep appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast support for the security and sovereignty of Kuwait and other Arab nations. He agreed with President Sisi on the need to prioritize de‑escalation and resume negotiations.
