CAIRO – Egypt condemned in ‘strongest terms’ the heinous terrorist attack that took place earlier on Friday in Iraq’s Diyala province, leaving a number of Iraqi Armed Forces personnel dead.

In a statement released by the Foreign Ministry, Egypt offered its sincerest condolences to the Iraqi government and people, as well as to the victims’ families.

Egypt voices its full solidarity with Iraq in all measures the country takes to maintain its security and stability, the statement said.

It also stressed full confidence in Iraq’s ability to uproot terrorism and overcome such cowardly terrorist acts, it added.
