Egypt’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Abdelaziz Konsowa, toured the Centre of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan before holding talks with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Kongratbay Sharipov.
During the meeting, which was held the sidelines of inaugural session of the 1st International Islamic Forum on Islamic Civilization in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent on Tuesday, Konsowa praised the centre’s role in promoting the values of moderation, tolerance and knowledge, describing it as a platform that connects cultural heritage with education, research and innovation.
The two ministers discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in higher education, scientific research and innovation.
The meeting tackled efforts to expand student exchanges, enhance academic and research collaboration between Egyptian and Uzbek universities, and develop partnerships in priority fields, including medicine, science, technology, energy, water and green hydrogen.
The tow ministers also explored the establishment of joint centres of excellence and closer cooperation in academic accreditation.
The meeting further addressed ways to promote student mobility by sharing national experiences in attracting international students and showcasing educational opportunities.
