Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, attended on Tuesday a major joint counter-terrorism drill the “Bright Star 2025” military exercise with US forces.
‎‏The activity featured a live drill simulating the elimination of an armed terrorist stronghold, clearing it of all hostile elements, and securing the area to restore normalcy.
‎‏The exercise began with a speech from Commander of the Northern Military Zone, Major General Staff Yasser El-Khatib, who highlighted commitment to closely following all stages of training with the aim of maximising benefits of exchanging expertise among participating forces. He also underscored the importance of enhancing joint co-operation to raise the combat efficiency of all troops involved.
‎‏The drill included coordinated parachute jumps by airborne units from the participating countries, explosive ordnance disposal by military engineers, and a joint ground assault by special forces and police units.
‎‏Main combat groups, supported by special forces from various nations and the Egyptian civil police units, then stormed the terrorist stronghold to clear and secure it.
Once the objective was achieved, medical, logistical, and morale support elements were deployed to restore essential services and ensure conditions for the safe return of normal life. The phase reflected the high proficiency of all participants and their ability to plan and conduct joint operations with modern professional standards.
‎‏Lieutenant General Khalifa conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and from, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production, General Abdul-Maguid Saqr, to the troops taking part in the exercise.
‎‏He also lauded the outstanding performance and effective coordination among the participating forces, and stressed their capability to manage joint operations with efficiency and confidence – an assurance of readiness for any future collective missions.
