Egyptian Minister of Planning, Economic Develoopment and International Co-operation Rania Al-Mashat and UNDP Resident Representative in Egypt Chitose Noguchi signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday to strengthen institutional capacity in areas supporting inclusive and sustainable economic development.
The agreement aims to deepen cooperation on evidence-based policymaking, public-private partnerships, human-capital investment and improving living standards in vulnerable areas. It also targets economic empowerment for women and youth and better design and execution of development projects.
Noguchi said the MoU would help expand innovative solutions for sustainable development, bolster policy formulation, mobilize private capital and promote South-South cooperation. She added that the partnership seeks to share Egypt’s development experience with African and developing countries and support more sustainable business models for small and large firms.
