Egypt’s Minister of International Co-operation (IC), Rania al-Mashat, and Resident Coordinator of the United Nations (UN) Office in Egypt, Elena Panova, toured several development projects in the northern coastal city of Alexandria on Sunday.
The tour of the minister and the UN resident coordinator to the projects came on the occasion of the Partnership Week between Egypt and the UN.
The week highlights the projects implemented in co-operation with the UN in different governorates.
It also comes in preparation for the final UN Sustainable Development Co-operation Framework (UNSDCF) 2023 – 2027, which will be signed in March.
The Egypt-UN Partnership week will include field visits to development projects in different governorates.
The visits aim to highlight the role of the UN, its agencies and affiliated programmes, in co-operation with national bodies and relevant parties in driving inclusive and sustainable development efforts.
The projects to be visited during the week are part of the UN Partnership Development Framework (UNPDF) 2018 – 2022, which focused on four key pillars: inclusive economic development; social justice; environmental sustainability and natural resource management, and women’s empowerment.
