Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri received a phone call from his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba during which they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
The two top diplomats also examined to exchange experiences of the two countries in confronting the spread of the coronavirus pandemic and mitigating its social and economic repercussions.
Minister Shoukri also expressed Egypt’s interest in deepening and developing cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, commercial and agricultural fields, transferring technology and increasing Ukrainian investments in Egypt.
Minister Shoukri also praised the continued flow of Ukrainian tourists to Egypt, noting that they topped the list in terms of numbers in 2020.
This, the minister said, comes in light of the strict precautionary measures applied by the Ministries of Health and Tourism. He also hailed Ukraine’s decision to resume charter flights to both South Sinai and the Red Sea.
