Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met with British Ambassador Mark Bryson-Richardson to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in the health sector. The talks focused on establishing clear mechanisms to expand and develop training programs for doctors and nursing teams, aimed at improving the quality of healthcare services provided to Egyptian citizens.
Ministry spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar noted that the minister praised the longstanding ties between Egypt and the UK, highlighting their history of fruitful partnerships, particularly in medicine.
The two sides agreed to broaden advanced training programs in collaboration with the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), including sending Egyptian medical missions to Britain to gain expertise and sharpen skills. The initiative is expected to strengthen Egypt’s healthcare workforce and support nationwide service development.
Minister Abdel Ghaffar emphasized the importance of forging strategic international partnerships to build medical capacity across all governorates, with a long-term framework covering clinical training, scientific research, digital health, and hospital management.
Ambassador Bryson-Richardson commended Egypt’s tangible progress in healthcare development and expressed his country’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Egypt’s Ministry of Health.
The meeting, attended by senior officials from the ministry, marks a significant step toward advancing the Egypt–UK strategic partnership in health, opening new horizons for the modernization of Egypt’s healthcare system to better serve its citizens.
