CAIRO– Egypt’s Ambassador in Kampala Ashraf Swelam discussed with Uganda’s Minister of State for Investment and Privatization Evelyn Anite the great development of bilateral economic relations and means of fostering them in various fields.

The Ugandan minister has praised the constructive co-operation between both countries’ governments and the role of the Egyptian private sector companies in implementing development projects in her country and thus contributing to achieving the strategic sustainable development goals, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Facebook on Wednesday.

She expressed her keenness on pushing forward future cooperation and attracting Egyptian investments in various fields, mainly those related to manufacturing, communications, electricity and infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian ambassador highlighted areas of support that Egypt provides to the Ugandan side, which he said witnessed great momentum recently in a way that reflects the growing bilateral relations and the Egyptian approaches supporting development in the African continent.

He also reviewed the mega national projects being implemented in Egypt, calling on the Ugandan side to benefit from the Egyptian experience in developing infrastructure in all fields over the past few years.
