Minister of State for Military Production Salah Soleiman Gomblat attended on Sunday the signing of a co-operation protocol between the National Authority for Military Production and Türkiye’s Baroks Company to locally manufacture hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers in Egypt.
The deal aligns with the political leadership’s directives to deepen local manufacturing and expand technology localisation through partnerships with the private sector and international companies.
He noted that Türkiye’s Baroks is one of the world’s leading companies in the design and manufacture of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) chambers and systems. Under the agreement, the Turkish company’s expertise and advanced manufacturing technologies will be transferred to military production factories by utilising their qualified production lines and industrial capabilities.
The minister explained that the locally manufactured hyperbaric devices are intended to meet the needs of hospitals in Egypt and across Africa, supporting the state’s efforts to strengthen national industrial capabilities and reduce reliance on imports.
Gomblat stressed that localising advanced hyperbaric oxygen chamber technologies would represent a significant step toward enhancing Egypt’s medical manufacturing sector and increasing the competitiveness of national industry.
He added that hyperbaric oxygen therapy devices are among the most important medical treatment technologies used in addressing a wide range of health conditions, including carbon monoxide poisoning, chronic wounds, soft tissue infections, bone infections, diabetic ulcers, sports injury rehabilitation, acute oxygen deficiency, certain cancer-related conditions, middle ear inflammation, some skin diseases, and selected autism-related cases.
Baroks officials expressed pride in co-operating with the Ministry of Military Production, praising the ministry’s industrial capabilities and describing it as a leading national industrial institution that plays a key role in supporting Egyptian industry.
