CAIRO – Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah El-din Moustafa held talks on Tuesday with Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Defense Industry Agency Gökhan Uçar to explore potential avenues for joint cooperation in various military manufacturing sectors.

The meeting took place at the ministry’s pavilion during the 2025 International Defense Exhibition and Conference (EDEX 2025), held at Egypt International Exhibition Centre (EIEC) from December 1 to 4, under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

During the session, the minister highlighted the Military Production Ministry’s central role in Egypt’s defense industry.

He underlined the ministry’s contributions to civilian manufacturing, noting its participation in major national and development projects by utilizing the surplus production capacities of its affiliated companies.

He asserted the ministry’s goal to increase local content in military products, in line with directives to localize advanced manufacturing technologies.

Mostafa praised Turkey’s strong presence at the fourth edition of EDEX, with 81 companies participating, reflecting the positive growth in bilateral industrial cooperation based on mutual respect and shared interests.

For his part, Uçar commended the ministry’s exhibits for their technological advancement and diversity, expressing Turkey’s interest in cooperation with the Military Production Ministry, one of the region’s leading industrial entities.

He also noted that EDEX has become a major international defense platform, enabling global companies to exchange expertise and discuss innovations in military manufacturing.

The two sides agreed on the importance of exchanging visits by specialists and technical delegations. This would allow them to evaluate each party’s technological and manufacturing capabilities firsthand.

They also stressed the need to identify areas of cooperation and put in place mechanisms for effective joint collaboration.
