Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli affirmed Egypt’s close monitoring of the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Station, a monumental hydroelectric dam under construction across the Rufiji River in eastern Tanzania, designed to significantly boost the nation’s electricity generation.
During a meeting held on Monday to assess the project’s executive progress, Prime Minister Madbouli emphasized the high priority and unwavering attention the initiative receives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. He highlighted the President’s consistent directives to ensure the meticulous execution of all components and phases of the project to the highest international standards.
The ambitious undertaking is being spearheaded by prominent Egyptian companies, namely the Arab Contractors (Osman Ahmed Osman & Co.) and El Sewedy Electric, showcasing the expertise and capabilities of Egypt’s national construction and engineering sectors on the global stage.
The review meeting was attended by Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Sherif el Sherbini, alongside a number of other high-ranking state officials, underscoring the government’s commitment to the successful completion of this strategic infrastructure project.
Prime Minister Madbouli underscored the profound significance of the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Station, stating that it serves as a powerful testament to the capabilities and potential of Egyptian national companies to undertake and successfully deliver such large-scale projects on an international level, particularly within the African continent.
