Manpower Minister Hassan Shehata asserted that the Egyptian state took all preemptive measures required and adopted presidential programmes and policies to provide citizens a decent life in order to face all challenges facing labor market worldwide.

This came in his speech on Wednesday to the 111th International Labor Conference, which is organised by the International Labor Organisation from June 5-16 in Geneva.

As many as 5,000 envoys from 187 countries are taking part in the event.

The labor file is followed up by President Abdel Fattah el Sisi, the minister said, adding that the president had directed to protect Egyptian labor inside and outside Egypt as well as enhance labor relations between employers and employees.

The minister also stressed Egypt’s solid stance concerning the Palestinians cause.

Shehata greeted Qatari Labor Minister Ali bin Samikh Al Marri over selecting him as head of the 111th round of the conference, noting that this round is held at a time of great economic and social challenges to the whole world especially the developing and poor countries.

The minister also underlined the importance of cooperation and partnership in order to achieve social justice as well as supporting member states to achieve their national priorities.
