Sisi, Idris discuss ties, regional developments
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering commitment to supporting Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and reiterated the importance of standing by the Sudanese people during this critical time.
He also underscored Egypt’s full backing of all efforts aimed at restoring peace, achieving stability, and alleviating humanitarian suffering in Sudan, while safeguarding the nation’s resources and long-term interests.
President Sisi made these remarks during his meeting in Cairo on Thursday with Kamel Idris, the Transitional Prime Minister of Sudan. Prime Minister Dr Moustafa Madbouli and high-level delegations from both nations attended the meeting.
According to Ambassador Mohamed el-Shennawy, the Presidency Spokesman, the discussions focused on strengthening the strategic ties between Egypt and Sudan, and exploring ways to deepen co-operation across multiple sectors.
The aim is to contribute meaningfully to the return of stability in Sudan and to support the development aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
The meeting also addressed the ongoing efforts to resolve the Sudanese crisis through dialogue and peaceful mechanisms, as well as prospects for collaboration in the reconstruction and recovery process in Sudan.
Furthermore, the two sides exchanged views on key regional developments, reaffirming the importance of continued coordination and consultation on issues of mutual concern to promote shared interests and regional stability.
