Egypt’s Ambassador to Djibouti Abdelrahman Raafat reaffirmed his commitment to maintain close communication with the Egyptian expat community in the country.

During a meeting with community members, he highlighted the foreign ministry’s efforts to modernize consular services and support Egyptians living abroad.

The ambassador hosted a cultural event marking World Arabic Language Day, featuring teachers and students from the Al-Azhar mission and local Djiboutian students, according to a statement from the ministry.

The activities included poetry readings and speeches that highlighted the importance of the Arabic language and Egypt’s efforts to promote it in Djibouti.

Talks at the event focused on ongoing efforts to establish an Arabic Language Centre at Djibouti’s Al-Wasatia Institute, a significant result of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s visit in April 2025, highlighting Egypt’s emphasis on expanding its cultural and educational influence in the region.
