Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli witnessed on Monday the signing of three strategic memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on the sidelines of the Africa Health ExCon 2026.
The event is held under patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The agreements underscore Egypt’s commitment to strengthening regional and international co-operation, advancing African integration, and enhancing healthcare and pharmaceutical systems to support health security and sustainable development.
The first MoU was signed between the Egyptian Drug Authority and Algeria’s National Agency of Pharmaceutical Products to boost co-operation in pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
The second MoU designates Egypt as the host of the operational headquarters of the African Pooled Procurement Mechanism (APPM), signed between Egypt’s Unified Procurement Authority and the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).
As for the third MoU, it formalises Egypt’s participation in the African Pooled Procurement Mechanism, further reinforcing the country’s role in strengthening access to medicines and medical supplies across Africa.
