CAIRO – The Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ministry announced the export of a new shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Idku liquefaction plant aboard the LNG Endurance vessel operated by TotalEnergies.
The shipment, totaling around 150,000 cubic metres of LNG, departed from Idku Port en route to Türkiye.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ministry said the export is in line with its strategy to attract greater international investment in Egypt’s natural gas sector by supporting exploration activities and enhancing domestic production.
The statement added that the ministry is cooperating with TotalEnergies to expand the company’s deepwater investments in the Mediterranean Sea through ambitious exploration projects.
The company also benefits from Egypt’s advanced LNG infrastructure, which contributes to accelerating development operations and reducing operational costs.
