EGYPT’S Ambassador to Italy, Bassam Rady, said that United Nations Food and Agriculture organization (FAO) unanimously selected Egypt as a member in the organisation’s council for the next three years until 2026 in appreciation of Cairo’s remarkable efforts in the field of agriculture and food security, land reclamation, water management and sophisticated irrigation methods.
Ambassador Rady, who is also Egypt’s permanent representative to the United Nations in Rome, said that the FAO council is the most important governing body in the organization, comprising a number of countries with long-standing expertise.
According to him, it formulates, approves and follows up on all policies and strategies of the organisation
worldwide regarding food security.
