CAIRO – Egyptian Tourism Minister Sherif Fat’hy has praised strategic and historical relations between Egypt and the US.
During a meeting with US Ambassador in Cairo Herro Mustafa Garg earlier Wednesday, Fat’hy talked about long decades of “constructive” cooperation and an “effective” partnership with Washington.
Fat’hy said his Ministry is looking forward to further enhancing cooperation with the US Embassy and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in the field of tourism and antiquities.
The meeting took up tourism investment opportunities in Egypt, particularly hotel tourism. They talked about ways to increase the number of hotel rooms in the coming stage to be able to accommodate the anticipated number of tourists.
Fat’hy said US travel investors could very well visit Egypt to get firsthand information about the business of tourism.
They also discussed efforts to increase the flow of American tourism to Egypt through promotion campaigns, convoys and workshops.
Garg said co-operation with Cairo has always been fruitful, hoping this would continue in many domains, besides tourism and antiquities.
