NEW ADMINISTRATIVE CAPITAL – Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania el Mashat said Egypt seeks to become a key hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in the Middle East and North Africa.
Mashat made the remarks during her participation via video-conference in the graduation of the second batch of the Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA), which comprises 9 startup companies operating in various fields, including agriculture, energy, transportation, industry, waste management and gender equality, according to a statement released by the ministry.
CFA is a technical assistance program funded by the UK government to help middle-income countries achieve national climate plans
The minister added that the graduation of a new batch of the CFA marks the beginning of a new phase of work to confront climate change, through innovative solutions in the sectors of agriculture, energy, transportation, industry, waste management, and gender equality.
Mashat said her ministry cooperates with international finance institutions and development partners to build a competitive economy that effectively contributes to the Global Climate Action Agenda (GCAA).
