Civil Aviation Minister, Lt. Gen. Mohamed Abbas Helmy, received on Sunday Saudi Minister of State, Essam bin Saeed, at his ministry headquarters in Cairo to discuss co-operation and means of enhancing the air transport partnership between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
Minister Helmy highlighted close relations with Saudi Arabia as well as deep, historical and strategic ties with the fellow Arab state.
Egypt, he said, is keen on enhancing co-operation and exchanging expertise with the Saudi side in the field of air transport, within the framework of directives by the Egyptian political leadership in this regard.
He referred to directives by the Egyptian leadership for strengthening relations with Saudi Arabia in all fields.
Minister bin Saeed, for his part, underlined the major strides made in the Egyptian civil aviation sector in the past few years.
He pointed to the importance of strengthening the partnership with the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation to serve the best interests of the civil aviation industry in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
Discussions between Minister Helmy and bin Saeed tackled a host of issues of common interest in the field of air transport, especially in the light of growing air traffic between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
The two ministers also discussed coordination and the unity of visions of positions in international forums.
