CAIRO – Egypt and South Sudan asserted the importance of boosting bilateral co-operation in the fields of youth and sports in the coming period in accordance with directives of the political leadership in the two countries, according to a statement by the Foreign Ministry on Monday.
Egypt and South Sudan seek to activate the role of young people and empower them to achieve the hoped-for development and welfare, it added.
The remarks came during a meeting between Egyptian Ambassador to South Sudan Moataz Moustafa and Minister of Youth and Sports in South Sudan Albino Bol Monday.
Moustafa affirmed the depth and strength of ties binding Egypt and South Sudan on all fronts.
The ministry said Bol thanked during the meeting the Egyptian side for all forms of support offered to his country.
Bol, for his part, said he is looking forward to organising the second edition of Egypt-South Sudan Youth Conference in the capital Juba in a move meant to expand bridges of communication among youth in the two countries.
