Egypt and Russia held political consultations on the European issues in Cairo under Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Khaled Emara and Alexander Grushko.
The consultations reflected the strength of historic ties between Egypt and Russia and keenness to develop them at the different levels, according to the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.
The consultations tackled the most important political, security and economic issues on the European and international arenas in addition to the activities of the effective political and security organizations.
The consultations took up the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and the importance of finding suitable solutions.
Both sides reviewed the economic ties of the BRICS countries in light of both countries’ membership in this important gathering.
