Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdel-Aati, reaffirmed Cairo’s commitment to advancing economic reforms and fostering a conducive investment climate, underscoring the country’s continued security and stability despite prevailing regional tensions.
Abdel-Aati’s remarks came during a meeting on Friday with representatives of leading Russian companies set to participate in the Russian Industrial Zone project within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), as well as the planned grain and energy logistics hub.
The meeting is part of broader efforts to strengthen Egyptian-Russian economic and trade relations, while expanding co-operation with the private sector through the exploration of new joint opportunities across multiple sectors.
Minister Abdel-Aati praised the notable progress in bilateral relations in recent years, highlighting the shared commitment to deepening the strategic partnership between Egypt and Russia.
The discussions addressed in detail the Russian Industrial Zone project in SCZone, describing it as a key milestone in bilateral co-operation. Both sides emphasised the importance of expediting the launch of operations in the zone, alongside advancing plans to establish the grain and energy logistics hub in Egypt.
The minister also reviewed the investment advantages and incentives offered by the Egyptian government, as well as reforms implemented in recent years to improve the business climate, efforts that have enhanced the resilience of the national economy in the face of successive global challenges.
