CAIRO – Minister of Finance Mohamed Ma’eit said that Egypt released imported goods worth $72.4 billion from January until December 26, 2023.
According to a statement released by the Finance Ministry on Friday, the minister said that the released goods included strategic commodities worth $19.1 billion and supplies and raw materials for production worth $33.3 billion.
Streamlining customs formalities for imports, exports, and transit of goods, a set of customs procedures were taken at dry ports to ease the burden on importers, the minister added.
Dry ports are specialized facilities that are designed to process standardized shipping containers used within international transport.
