In a phone call on Saturday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi conveyed to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian Egypt’s firm rejection of Israel’s ongoing escalation against Iran, describing it as a serious threat to Middle East security and stability amid an already volatile regional climate.
According to Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy, Sisi emphasized the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire and the resumption of negotiations to achieve a peaceful and sustainable resolution to the current crisis. He underlined that continued escalation only perpetuates the cycle of violence and reiterated that “there are no military solutions to this crisis.”
Sisi also reaffirmed Egypt’s long-standing stance that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, based on the two-state solution and in line with international legitimacy, remains the only path to lasting stability in the region.
President Pezeshkian, for his part, praised Egypt’s “wise and responsible” approach toward restoring regional stability and ending the bloodshed. He expressed Iran’s alignment with Cairo’s call for a just, comprehensive, and final resolution to the Palestinian issue.
