Egypt has categorically denounced violence acts that took place in East Jerusalem, claiming the lives of seven people and wounding others.
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday that Egypt rejects all forms of violence targeting civilians.
Cairo sent its sincere condolences to the families of victims, wishing the wounded a speedy recovery, it said.
Egypt warned against ongoing escalation between the Palestinians and Israelis and urged to maintain self-restraint and stop such attacks and provocative acts to avoid escalation in the occupied territories, added the statement.
