Egypt warned on Thursday of the repercussions of the statements issued by a number of Israeli ministers as regards the start of implementing a plan to displace the Palestinian people from their land, saying such statements constitute a blatant and flagrant violation of the international law, the international humanitarian law and the basic rights of the Palestinians.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigration warned of the disastrous ramifications of these irresponsible statements, which weaken and destroy negotiations on the ceasefire agreement and incite the return of fighting again not to mention the risks that may result from them on the entire region and on the foundations of peace.

The statement reiterated Egypt’s complete rejection of such irresponsible statements.

Egypt also reiterated full rejection of any proposal or vision that aims to liquidate the Palestinian cause by displacing the Palestinian people from their historical land and seizing it, whether temporarily or permanently, warning of the repercussions of these unjust ideas that undermine the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

Egypt will never be part of these proposals, the statement said.

It underlined the need to address the root causes of the conflict; the fact that there is still a people under occupation for decades, suffering from all forms of displacement, persecution and discrimination.

All these forms must be ended immediately and the Palestinian people must regain their inalienable rights in accordance with the international legitimacy, the statement said.

The statement underlined the importance of implementing the three stages of ceasefire, reiterating readiness to engage immediately with partners and friends in the international community to implement plans for early recovery, rubble removal and reconstruction of Gaza within a specific timeline and without the need to make the Palestinians leave the Gaza Strip.
