Mai Khairy, Executive Director of the Export Council for Food Industries, revealed these figures during a seminar organzied by the the to review global market opportunities.
Global frozen strawberry imports reached $1.4 billion in 2024, totaling 842,000 tons, with steady annual growth in both value and volume since 2020.
Major importers — including the United States, Germany, France, Canada and Japan — account for nearly half of global demand, offering key expansion opportunities for Egyptian exporters. Egypt held about 9.3 percent of US imports between January and October 2025, valued at $28 million, and a 6 percent share in Canada. In Saudi Arabia, Egypt dominates the market with a 72 percent share.
The council highlighted additional export potential estimated at $46 million in the US and $200 million in Europe, stressing that sustained growth depends on strict compliance with food safety standards, chain requirements and internationally recognized certifications.
