Egypt’s Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar visited the Adolphe de Rothschild Foundation Hospital in Paris during his participation in the One Health Summit 2026 in Lyon. The hospital is recognised worldwide for its expertise in ophthalmology, neurology, and ENT surgery, as well as its role in medical research and training.
The visit reflects Egypt’s strategy to build partnerships with leading global medical institutions, Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said.
The goal is to transfer expertise, enhance the skills of Egyptian doctors, and raise the quality of healthcare services, he added.
The talks focused on co-operation in training medical staff, exchanging knowledge, and supporting specialised fields such as neurology and ophthalmology. Both sides discussed preparing a memorandum of understanding to establish a framework for collaboration in training, capacity building, and technical expertise.
The minister emphasised the importance of learning from successful international experiences. He noted that co-operation with world-class hospitals is a cornerstone of Egypt’s vision to deliver integrated healthcare services that meet global standards.
