Egyptian Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Mohamed Abdel Aati said on Friday the State plans to implement projects to convert 3.7 million feddans nationwide from immersion irrigation systems to the modern irrigation system within three years.
In a statement, Abdel Aati noted the Irrigation Ministry aims to rationalize the use of water by rehabilitating the canals and using smart and modern irrigation systems.
A cooperation protocol had been signed among the Ministries of Irrigation, Agriculture, and Finance, the National Bank of Egypt, and the Agricultural Bank to implement a plan for achieving sustainable development for agricultural projects, the minister added.
