Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met on Tuesday with representatives of Pfizer Egypt to discuss avenues for co-operation aiming to improve the quality of healthcare services and advance the pharmaceutical sector.
Minister Abdel Ghaffar reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to foster partnerships with key healthcare stakeholders to support system efficiency and expand access to innovative treatments.
The minister was briefed by Pfizer officials on the company’s efforts in supporting public health, including enhancing access to advanced therapies in oncology, haemophilia and vaccines, as well as training medical professionals in line with the latest international standards.
The meeting also touched on support for presidential health initiatives, particularly the one on Women’s Health, through public awareness campaigns, early detection programmes and psychological support for patients in co-operation with the National Cancer Institute.
The two sides also reviewed collaboration in clinical trials, including the iBreast programme, and broader efforts to promote early cancer detection and treatment.
The meeting also addressed the adoption of precision medicine, expansion of clinical research and opportunities to localise vaccine production to strengthen Egypt’s pharmaceutical security. Efforts to improve haemophilia treatment and expand access to advanced care were also highlighted.
