LUXOR, Egypt – Egypt’s Ministers of trade and industry, social solidarity, international cooperation, emigration, planning, and sports and youth said on Friday Egypt pays special attention to achieving sustainable development and social stability as well as caring for low-income families and the environment.

These remarks came during the third day of the second international conference on sustainable development in Luxor, organized by Dar Al Orman Charity Association under the patronage of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli with the participation of ministers and Luxor Governor Mostafa Alham.

Trade and Industry Minister Neveen Gamea noted the ministry supports the Egyptian heritage industries, pointing to the country’s endeavors to generalize the use of electric vehicles (EVs)

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Emigration Nabila Makram stated that the Egyptian expats have become confident in their country, a matter which was reflected in the increase of their remittances, adding they socially contribute in eliminating poverty and offering a decent life for the citizens in villages and remote areas.

Social Solidarity Minister, for her part, pointed out that the State had pumped EGP 300 billion through its general budget in the field of sustainable development.

Meantime, Planning Minister Hala El Said said the ministry has ambitious plans for partnerships between the government, national institutions, civil society, and the private sector to work together on establishing small and medium development projects and employing manpower to eradicate poverty and reduce unemployment.

Said added that the ministry had made a decentralized report for each governorate addressing the development situation in each one and the extent of its need for development in various fields.

On her turn, International Cooperation Minister Rania Al Mashat said her ministry offered the required fund to establish and finance projects in cooperation with international organizations and bodies, whether by grants or soft and low-interest loans.

Mashat noted that the ministry provided monetary support for the implementation and continuity of the Decent Life Initiative and the presidential initiatives related to the development of villages and slums.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dar Al-Orman Charity Association Hossam El Qabbani thanked Madbouli for sponsoring the event, pointing out the conference will witness the sign of major protocols with the Ministries of Social Solidarity, Planning, and Emigration on developing the most needy villages.
