CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said there is a real political will to boost democracy, continue implementing axes of the national strategy for human rights and promote social justice.
The Egyptian State pays attention to supporting human rights and achieving social justice, said the minister.
During a meeting Wednesday with leaders and members of human rights sector – within the framework of his keenness on directly communicating with all the sectors of the ministry to listen to their assessment on the political priorities of the Egyptian foreign policy during the coming stage Abdelatty said, Egypt reached several achievement in this files, asserting the importance of the human rights sector in facing up to the parties that aim at distorting Egypt’s image abroad, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
Abdelatty said the sector intensifies coordination and consultation with all the ministries and bodies of the State concerned with this file to benefit from the progress that has been realised in Egypt so far in the field of human rights.
During the meeting, he asserted the importance of prioritising the higher national interest and working on intensifying communication to serve the political priorities of the Egyptian foreign police, the spokesman said.
Abdelatty listened to reports on the situation of implementing Egypt’s international commitments in the field of human rights.
The meeting comes as part of a series of meetings held by the Egyptian minister with the different geographical and subject sectors of the ministry, Abu Zeid said.
