The event falls within the framework of Italy’s 2024 G7 Presidency initiative.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Italian Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, alongside a host of ministers and government officials from African countries, representatives of international organizations, and leaders from global and African tech companies.

Talaat’s participation came at an official invitation from Italian minister Urso.

The AI center aims to accelerate digital transformation across Africa and promote AI-driven industrial development in line with the African Union’s AI Strategy.

Fourteen African nations, including Egypt, were selected for initial collaboration with the center.
