Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdel-Aati held a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar to review regional developments and the ongoing efforts to reduce tensions. The call was part of continuous consultations between the two countries aimed at supporting the U.S.–Iran negotiation track and promoting regional stability.
According to Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the two ministers reiterated their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, expressing a shared determination to expand cooperation across multiple fields for mutual benefit. They also exchanged views on the latest regional dynamics, underscoring the importance of prioritising political and diplomatic solutions to contain the current escalation. Both ministers highlighted the need to sustain negotiations between the United States and Iran to reach consensus-based understandings that could ease tensions, end the war, and reinforce regional security.
The ministers warned of the grave security, economic, and geopolitical consequences of the ongoing conflict. They also discussed preparations for the upcoming fourth meeting of the quadrilateral mechanism involving Egypt, Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, which will be held in Cairo soon. The gathering aims to deepen coordination among the four nations and advance collective initiatives to de-escalate regional crises.
