Egypt has expressed its deepest condolences to Afghanistan over a devastating earthquake that hit the Asian country early on Saturday, killing around 2,000 people and injuring more than 500 others.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid stressed the solidarity of Egypt with Afghanistan in this difficult time.
Egypt extends its condolences to the Afghan government and people and the bereaved families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery, said the spokesman.
