CAIRO – Egypt on Friday offered condolences to the Japanese people and government over the death of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe after a march of devoted political efforts to serve his nation.
In a statement by the Foreign Ministry, he said Egypt expressed deep sorrow over the tragic killing of Abe.
Egypt highly appreciates the key role played by Abe during his political march in promoting the Egyptian-Japanese relations.
The ministry noted that Abe was a friend and partner supporting Egypt.
Abe was shot dead on Friday while delivering a stump speech in the western city of Nara two days ahead of a national election.
