Egypt has offered its deep condolences over the death of eight UN peacekeepers from Pakistan, Russia and Serbia in a helicopter crash in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
Eight members of the UN Stabilisation Mission in Congo (MONUSCO) were killed when a UN helicopter crashed in North Kivu province.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended its “sincere condolences” to Pakistan, Russia and Serbia as well as to the family of the victims.
The ministry asserted its full solidarity with the UN mission in Congo in its efforts to contribute to achieving stability in the country, read the statement.
