Farouk emphasizes role of private sector and scientific institutions in regional growth
CAIRO – Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister Alaa Farouk highlighted the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on the importance of promoting co-operation with African countries, especially in the agricultural domain.
He underlined the importance of boosting agricultural investment opportunities with an aim of promoting food security in Egypt and other African countries.
He made the remarks during a meeting with a committee formed by the ministry to review mechanisms of increasing investment opportunities in the agricultural field in African countries as well as enhancing agricultural cooperation between Egypt and a number of African countries.
Farouk said cooperation with African countries depends on partnership and cooperation agreements in the field of integrated industrial and agricultural investment and benefiting from common trade agreements.
He underlined the importance of ensuring active participation of the private sector and specialized scientific and research entities.
He highlighted investment potential of African countries in the agriculture domain.
