Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdel-Aati, received his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita on Monday, withing the farmwork of the ongoing coordination between the two countries and in preparation for first session of the Egyptian-Moroccan Joint Coordination and Follow-up Committee.
The two ministers affirmed the deep-rooted fraternal ties between Egypt and Morocco, lauding the notable progress in political, economic, and trade relations.
They also stressed their shared commitment to advancing co-operation across various fields.
The talks reviewed preparations for the first session of the Egyptian-Moroccan Joint Coordination and Follow-up Committee, which will seek to expand bilateral co-operation and fulfilling the aspirations of both.
The meeting featured exchange of views on regional issues of mutual concern, particularly ongoing military escalation and the critical juncture facing the region.
Abdel-Aati outlined Egypt’s efforts, in coordination with regional and international partners, to de-escalate tensions and prevent a broader conflict.
Discussions also touched on developments in the Palestinian issue and regional situations in Sudan and Libya.
The two sides underscored the necessity of continued coordination to support regional security and stability, and to strengthen joint Arab and African action in addressing current challenges and advancing shared interests.
