Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdel Aaty received on Tuesday Secretary-General of the Mauritanian Presidency Mohamed Laghdaf who is participating in the 12th World Urban Forum (WUF12) as a representative of the President of Mauritania.

During the meeting, Laghdaf handed minister Abdel Aaty a written message from Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

Abdel Aty praised Mauritania’s participation in the WUF12 and reiterated Egypt’s commitment to strengthening relations between the two brotherly nations across various fields.

He also said he looks forward to convening the 2nd session of the Joint Egyptian-Mauritanian Committee in Nouakchott in the near future.

Abdel Aaty also highlighted Egypt’s keenness to advance economic cooperation between the two countries, particularly through the involvement of Egyptian companies in infrastructure projects that Mauritania plans to implement in the coming period.

He stressed the importance of building on the momentum that the Joint Committee’s session will generate to further enhance bilateral cooperation in the economic, trade, and investment fields.
