Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdel Aaty expressed his aspiration to strengthening bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Mauritania in various fields.

He also said he looked forward to convening the joint committee between the two sides.

This came during a phone call Minister Abdel Aaty received from his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug on Tuesday

Minister Abdel Aaty praised the mutual coordination between the two sides on various regional issues, particularly concerning Arab and African affairs. He noted that both countries shar identical views on many issues.

Abdel Aaty also stressed the importance of enhancing trade and economic relations between the two sides.

He highlighted the need to benefit from the available capabilities of the two countries and the accumulated expertise of Egyptian companies in infrastructure projects and the establishment of fish farms. These capabilities qualify them to undertake projects that Mauritania intends to launch in the coming period, achieving the interests of both countries.

Minister Abdel Aaty and minister Ould Merzoug discussed issues of mutual interest on the Arab and African arenas, addressing developments in Libya, Sudan, and the Sahel-Sahara region.
