Egypt marked the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People observed on November 29.
The Foreign Ministry said that marking the day coincides this year with the ruthless Israeli aggression against the Palestinians for 45 days, in a blatant violation of the international laws, the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
Egypt asserts its full commitment and unwavering support to the Palestinian people to defend their cause, the statement said.
Egypt urged the international community to strictly move to halt the Israel ruthless violations against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank to alleviate their suffering, the statement added.
Egypt also called for permanent and unconditional ceasefire in the enclave and providing relief and humanitarian aid supplies in a sustainable and sufficient way to deal with the unprecedented humanitarian tragedy faced by the Palestinians, the statement said.
The International Day of Solidarity traditionally provides an opportunity for the international community to focus its attention on the fact that the question of Palestine remains unresolved and that the Palestinian people have yet to attain their inalienable rights as defined by the General Assembly, namely, the right to self-determination without external interference, the right to national independence and sovereignty and the right to return to their homes and property, from which they have been displaced.
